Double Chocolate Cookies

COOKIES

  • 1½ cups organic cane sugar
  • 1 cup organic butter, softened
  • 2 large organic eggs
  • 1 tsp. organic vanilla
  • 2 cups organic all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup organic cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 (10 oz.) pouch organic semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup organic walnuts, chopped (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or baking mat. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir mix into creamed mixture until just combined. Gently stir in chocolate chips and walnuts, if desired. Scoop out heaping tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls. Place cookies 2 to 3 inches apart onprepared cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
